Admirals lose season opener against Purple squad

The Amsterdam Admirals where not able to win the unofficial rematch of World Bowl XIV against the Frankfurt Galaxy. Once again the men in purple where to strong and beat the Admirals with 30-14. The Galaxy took their lead mainly in the second half. A couple of hundred Admirals fans who traveled to Frankfurt were witnessing this disappointing result.

The Admirals started the game very confident. In the first drive Drew Olsen managed to find receiver Justin Surrency for the first touchdown of the game. Frankfurt Galaxy had a good response on that, just before the end of the quarter QB J.T. O’Sulivan managed to find Felton Huggins with a deep pass for a touchdown. At the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter, QB Corry Bramelet took over for the Admirals. It seems that Drew Olsen had a minor injury but could return later on.

In the second quarter the teams were also equal. With a score of Skyler Fulton for the Admirals and Aaron Hosack for the Galaxy the teams entered half time with score of 14-14.

The second half of the game can be called the Galaxy show. The men in purple played even stronger than in the first half and the Admirals defense had much trouble stopping these attacks. With 2 fieldgoals from Rhys Lloyd and a second touchdown from Aaron Hosack the Galaxy expand their lead to 30-14. The Admirals were not able to score. Nevertheless there were some players who showed some great effort. Noriaki Kinoshita (WR) and Larry Croom (RB) made some great plays for the Admirals offense which could be promising for the next couple of games.
